Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying and selling SaaS businesses on SAASALE.

About SAASALE

What is SAASALE?

SAASALE is a marketplace for buying and selling SaaS businesses. Every listing has verified revenue (pulled directly from the seller's payment provider — Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, and 14 others) and an AI-generated Deal Score from 0 to 10 to help buyers compare opportunities at a glance.

What is the AI Deal Score?

A composite score 0–10 calculated from six metrics: Product-Market Fit (subscriber count), revenue freshness (is it growing or fading), revenue volume, GEO leverage (LLM-distribution potential), niche saturation, and replaceability by free AI. Verified payment data weighs 65%, AI agents weigh 35%. The formula is deterministic — AI doesn't decide your score, it only provides inputs.

How is SAASALE different from Acquire.com or MicroAcquire?

Three differences: (1) every project has an AI Deal Score, not just a listing; (2) revenue is verified through live API connection to the payment provider, not self-reported; (3) the catalog includes 495 pre-tracked SaaS projects from our SaaS Radar database — even projects whose founders haven't listed them yet, so buyers can express interest before competition arrives.

For Buyers

How do I make sure the revenue is real?

Every listing shows a verified badge with the provider name (Stripe, Paddle, etc.). The seller has connected a read-only API key, and our system pulls revenue, MRR, and active subscriptions directly. Sellers cannot edit these numbers.

How does payment work?

All transactions go through Escrow.com. Buyer funds the escrow → seller transfers the assets (domain, code, accounts) → buyer marks "received" on Escrow.com, which starts a 30-day inspection period → buyer accepts → funds release. Until "received" is marked, money sits in escrow indefinitely. Seller cannot force the timer to start.

What does it cost to buy?

Browsing and making offers is free. Buyer Alerts (filtered email notifications about new listings) are free. The only paid product for buyers is the AI Deep Analysis Report — $29 for one report, or packages of 5/10/20 at a discount. The platform commission (3.7–5.6% depending on deal size, split 50/50 with the seller) is included in the Escrow.com transaction.

For Sellers

How do I list my SaaS?

You connect a read-only API key from your payment provider. We verify the key, pull your metrics, and create a listing. Listing fee is $49 (one-time). If your project is already in our SaaS Radar database (pre-tracked), activating the sale is free — you only pay if you're adding a brand new project.

Can I keep my identity private?

Yes. Stealth mode hides your project name, domain, and founder identity from public listings. Only buyers who sign an NDA (generated in-browser, nothing stored on our server) see the real details. AI insights and scores are still calculated, but presented as anonymous.

What's the seller's share of the commission?

Half. Total platform commission is 3.7–5.6% depending on deal size (lower percentage for larger deals), split 50/50 between buyer and seller. On a $10,000 deal, each party pays ~$270.

Security & Payments

Which payment providers do you support for verification?

17 providers: Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Polar, RevenueCat, DodoPayment, Superwall, Creem, Chargebee, Recurly, Maxio, Adapty, Apphud, Qonversion, Glassfy, PayPal, and SumUp. We only accept read-only API keys with minimum permissions — we cannot charge or modify your data.

What about KYC?

SAASALE does not perform KYC. Identity verification is handled by Escrow.com when the deal reaches the escrow stage — both parties verify directly with Escrow.com. SAASALE does not store ID documents.

What documents are part of the deal flow?

Three: NDA (if buyer requests private listing details), LOI (Letter of Intent, after offer accepted), and APA (Asset Purchase Agreement, before escrow). All three are generated in your browser with built-in editors and signed inline. PDFs are stored only on the deal record. Lump-sum payment only — no installments or earnouts.
